Colorado Day 2/Estes Park

Our highlights from day 2 of our vacation were:

Fishing--Bishop caught 2 (one was huge--18") and Nora caught one!
Hiking around the Alluvial Fan
Dinner and swimming with Courtney and Cory

Since we divided our trip between Estes Park and Steamboat Springs I asked everyone what one thing they really wanted to do while we were in Estes Park! Bishop chose fishing, Nora chose horseback riding and Luke and I chose hiking! So on Sunday we started the day fishing and we made reservations to go horse back riding on Monday!

Bishop absolutely loves to fish so we started the day at the trout pond in town. Bishop caught one early on and then Nora caught a big one.......and then Bishop ended up snagging a huge trout! It was all we could eat--so we had to leave! After fishing we stopped at the Fun Park to go down the big slide--it's one of Nora's favorites....and I think it's fun too! We went down the big slide a few times....stopped at our cabin to drop off the fish and pack a lunch and then headed into RMNP! We hiked around the Alluvial Fan.....the kids made sculptures with the rocks while Luke and I relaxed in the shade and then we went back to swim at our place!
Courtney and Cory came for dinner and it was so fun to see them! It's become a tradition to connect while we're in CO and this is the 3rd year in a row we've seen her! We ate the fish the kids caught for dinner and then swam in the pool! It was a later night, but so worth it!

First catch of the day!

You can see how much bigger the last fish is!
