First days at home

Our first few days at home as a family of four went pretty well. I was very sensitive of Bishop and making sure he got the attention he deserved and I didn't want to focus ALL our attention on Nora. Thankfully, he LOVES his sister and always asks for her first thing in the morning and he wants to "see baby Nora" any chance he gets. He seems to be adjusting just fine.

He was over stimulated the weekend she was born--with his bday party and my parents being here...visiting us at the hospital, there was a lot of action, so I think it took him a couple of days to get back into his routine and I think Luke and I are treating him more like "normal" and not trying to over compensate, etc. The first couple of days he was more whiny and was acting like a baby, but he seems to be past that! Whew!

Nora's sleep has had its ups and downs. She had a tough time sleeping at home, at first--and only wanted to be held, then she had a couple good nights....and then had a few tough nights. The past 2 nights have been better, so I hope she has it figured out. She has gone 7 hours a couple of times....and the only reason she woke up is because I woke her to feed her. She seems to be eating better and when she eats well, she sleeps well, so I really hope she has gotten the eating part down, so she'll sleep better!

So far--life as a family of four is absolutely wonderful and easier the second time around. I know we'll have our challenges, but I couldn't be happier and I say it to Luke all the time! I've recovered well, Bishop's doing well and Nora is such a sweet baby girl. It helps that she's bigger and healthier than Bishop and we're not as nervous or anxious about every little thing. I have said it before, but we are so blessed!

Here are some pictures from our first days together at home!

It was pajama day at school on Friday, so Bishop wore his new Elmo PJs! He also has quite the attachment to his bear (we got him in Colorado this past summer) and his "blankie". He likes to take them all over the house.... :)
