On Thursday we headed up to Hidden Valley trailhead to hike around a little and so the kids could participate in the fire program and become junior fire rangers. By this time Bishop was pretty much "done" with hiking.....but we convinced him to go up just a little ways and we headed down for the program.

After the fire program we headed in and Nora and I went down the big slide together a few times!
We had a picnic lunch in the park with Emily, Raymond and their two dogs. The kids loved the dogs and it was nice to be able to say good bye to Emily!
After parting ways we walked past a winery and decided to try a wine tasting. This may have been the best behaved the kids were all week! They walked in--went to the kids area, sat down and colored/drew while Luke and I tasted a few wines! We couldn't believe it! It was great!
I would be remiss to not mention one of the highlights of the trip--playing Go Go Fish (or Go Fish as most people refer to it). We all had so much fun playing together and there were lots of laughs! It's a great game to help the kids with their numbers too. We all enjoyed it and played it more and more as the week went on!

We ate Bishop's fish for dinner and both kids helped prepare the fish!

Bishop was excited to hold all 3 fish!

The week is winding down--tomorrow is our last full day before we head home! We plan to go on a hike and let the kids dictate the rest of the day! It was great to see the sun today! It brightened everyones spirits!
