A Fantastic Weekend!

This past weekend was one of my favorites!! We had so much fun together as a family and we were able to get outside and enjoy some winter weather!

To start--I posted a picture of Nora with her teacher, Ms. Laryssa. Ms. Laryssa left Nora's school to teach at a different school. We will miss her dearly--she was SO good to Nora and our family and Nora loved her. We are thankful to have gotten to know her and hope to keep in touch! Thanks for everything, Ms. Laryssa!

Friday night we got together with our friends, the Hennum's to celebrate Maia's 6th birthday. The kids always have fun together and it's so fun to relax and catch up with their parents too!

Saturday we started the day off skating at Linden Hills Park--you can rent skis there for free and they have an ice rink and hockey rink. It's perfect (and only 3 minutes from our house). Bishop tried skating last year and did NOT like it--but he was excited to try it again on Saturday and he enjoyed it! He pushed the guide along and did pretty well for his first time out this year. Nora got to ride around with her dad pushing her and she giggled the entire time--then Nora and I went and played at the park.

After skating we grabbed lunch at George and the Dragon and then went cross country skiing. My cousin Tim joined us and we went to Hyland to ski. I skiied with Bishop and we had fun. He made 2 loops (he usually only does one) and he went down the really big hill twice! His favorite thing to do is go down the big hill--so that was fun! He was pretty tired though--and he fell asleep on the way home.

Luke's parents came up on Saturday evening to watch the kids so Luke and I could have a date night. It was the perfect ending to a great day! The kids were SO excited to have Gpa and Gma at our house--they showed them their toys, the pictures they were coloring, etc--everyone was happy! :)

Luke and I went downtown to Spoon and Stable for dinner. We didn't have a reservation--so we got there at 5:15, put our name on the list and went to Marvel Bar for a drink while we waited. They texted us that our table was ready and we headed back for dinner. We had a great night and were home by 9:30!

Sunday we went to church and Gpa and Gma joined us--we went to Turtle Bread for brunch and then came back and opened up presents. The kids were so excited! Rich and Eileen--thanks again for coming up and watching the kids, we really appreciated it!

Sunday afternoon we had Maia's birthday party at a bowling alley and then Bishop wanted to go skating again--so we went back to the rink. He was moving along without the guide and even passing a puck back and forth with Luke! For a girl who grew up playing basketball, this is a whole new world for me! I'm excited for him that he's so excited (but I REALLY love basketball)! :) He told me this morning out of the blue....."hockey is my favorite and I want to keep practicing!"
