There has been so much sickness going around this year--influenza hit early and HARD for a lot of people and the norovirus is going around (stomach flu) as well as anything else you can think of. I have been a little more cautious and concerned because we're going to Mexico and we didn't buy trip insurance! Well, on Wednesday night it hit Nora. Luke played basketball that night and Nora walked down to find him after he got home. He walked her right back up to bed and a few minutes later she came down again......and then she got sick! :( This was around 11:30 or so. She continued to get sick all night and the 2 of us ended up sleeping together on the small couch (our sheets were dirty, the big couch got hit and Luke was having a hard time sleeping with the 3 of us in the smaller bed). Thankfully it was short lived. She stayed home from school on Thursday and didn't get sick at all throughout the day........and miraculously no one else got it either! :)
Jack's 2nd birthday party was scheduled for Saturday and we were all excited that Nora was feeling better so we could go to the party. Unfortunately, Madelyn got strep throat (and a virus on top of it) and Jack ended up with RSV. We decided not to risk it since we leave for Mexico on Thursday and so we'll celebrate with him when we get home.
Saturday morning I took Bishop sledding and Nora and Luke went to the Mpls Institute of Art. It was a fun morning for everyone! In the afternoon we went down to Lake Harriet for the Kite Festival. We've never gone before and the weather was perfect for it this year! It was warm(er) and a little windy. Unfortunately we forgot our kites, but Bishop got to go ice fishing and we enjoyed walking around and eating mini donuts!
On Sunday I went to get a pedicure with Nina and while I was gone the kids packed for our trip to Mexico! ;) Luke took Bishop skiing on the lake and we enjoyed the sun and warmer weather!
