We took our first family vacation to the beach....and it was also the kids' first flight! We went to Azul Beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico and we had the best time ever!
As I mentioned in earlier posts--I was nervous about someone getting sick--but we all remained healthy and were ready for our 9am flight on Thursday morning! We went from 1/22/15-1/26/15. Bishop gets car sick, so he was pretty nervous about getting sick on the plane. I felt so bad that he worried about it so much--he even asked if we could drive instead. He did great on the plane and told me he wanted to fly on an airplane everyday! :) Both kids did great on the flight. Bishop got a little restless about 1/2 way there (it was a 4 hour flight), but they were both really well behaved and there weren't any issues! We landed at 1pm and everything went very smoothly--we got through customs with no problems, got our luggage and loaded up in our van to head to the resort. We grabbed some lunch when we got to the resort--and the kids were pretty excited! They ate and then threw the football on the roof........until it didn't come down! It got stuck in the netting on the roof, so a St. John's football was left in Mexico! :)
We traveled with our friends, Jesse, Nina and Jack. We had swim up suites next door to each other, which was so fun! Bishop was swimming at 7am--and I could just sit on the porch and watch him (he could touch and was comfortable diving for rings on his own). We spent our five days there swimming in the 4 pools, making sand castles, playing in the play house/slide, playing in the kids club, eating, drinking and RELAXING!! It was an amazing vacation and we were all able to relax and enjoy it!

The kids club was absolutely amazing! Not only did they have a room with tons of toys for the kids to play with (a trampoline, balance beam, ladder, legos, toys, toys and more toys), which was free for kids over 4 to be dropped off at--but they also had tons of activities throughout the day for the kids. Games in the kids pool, arts and crafts on the beach, face painting, movie night, etc. One day they even made their own pinatas and that night they got to break one open! The teachers were so nice and great to the kids and it made our stay that much more enjoyable!

The kids were great the entire vacation and we all enjoyed our time away together! I would highly recommend Azul Beach for anyone considering an all inclusive resort with kids. The only thing I would have done differently was to pack less clothes and to stay longer! ;)
These last few comments are mainly for me to remember specifics about our trip--the restaurants were great and having 24 hour room service was very convenient as well, especially when the kids were starving at 4pm! We loved having a swim up suite so if anyone wanted to swim they could--without having to bring all our stuff anywhere! The cabanas were awesome and nice to have some extra room to relax on the beach. I just can't say enough good things about the resort, the kids and our time away! I can't wait to do it again!
