On Saturday we celebrated Great Marlys' life once more. We went to her church and laid her ashes to rest. It was a very windy and cool morning but the service didn't take long. Nana brought the kids windmills and balloons, which were fun for them. We helped throw dirt on her urn and then went back to Nana and Papa's for lunch.
It was a very nice service/ceremony to lay her to rest. All she wanted in life was to be with her family....and this would have made her very happy for all of us to be together. After lunch we all went around the table and shared something we remembered about Grandma. I have SO many wonderful memories of her. The most vivid is her rocking me in the dark when I slept at her house....and telling me the classic stories (Jack and Jill is the one that always comes to mind). She would then sleep with both Shelly and I and we would always visit the bakery and small store in town. I could go on and on with the memories from visiting her house! Most of all I'll remember her love....she didn't care what we were doing or if she was even interested in what we were doing....as long as we were together, she was happy! I'm so happy she can be with Grandpa again....and I'm sure they're dancing away together with smiles on their faces! I miss you so much, Grandma! Thanks for the legacy of family and all you taught me! I LOVE YOU!
