Sport Court

Luke and I mulled over the idea of putting in a sport court in our back yard. We finally decided to go for it.....and the work began! We originally were only going to take 1 of the trees down, but decided to take them both down as the other tree would most likely be threatened by the work. We are so glad we made that decision as the 2nd tree was rotten and probably didn't have much life left in it anyways! Neither of the trees were in very great shape.

After the trees came down and they began working on the court the process went fast! They started on Tuesday afternoon and we were able to play on it on Friday! We all love it!

Camp Kici Yapi

Bishop attended Camp Kici Yapi this week with Krueger! He seemed to have a great time and love it.....although after the 2nd day he started complaining that his stomach hurt and he was EXHAUSTED at night. It was hard to tell if it was anxiety or if he was not feeling well. They took a bus from Linden Hills park to the camp (in Prior Lake). They got to go swimming, and do all kinds of camp things (the big slide, archery, canoe rides, tie dye shirts, sing songs, have picnics and play games)! One of his favorites was GAGABall!

Thursday night was family night. Bishop chose to go to family night over soccer, so we went down to check it out. It was fun to see the camp grounds and the activities he did during the week! Nora really wanted to ride a pony so we started the night by doing that, then we walked back to archery as that was Bishop's choice. It's a really big camp area, so things were pretty spread out. The kids went down the big slide, did archery and then we headed back to get a bite to eat. We wanted to take out a canoe, but ran out of time. At dinner time Bishop was exhausted and didn't want to eat--I took him back to the car while Nora and Luke listened to the songs and finished up family night!

All in all, it was a positive experience for Bishop! He seemed to enjoy camp--aside from not feeling well and being exhausted!

Happy Father's Day to Luke!

Sunday was all about Dad/Luke! He chose breakfast at Rose Street Patisserie!  After breakfast he helped Nora bike and then we went to Lake Nokomis to swim! We finished the day at Minnehaha Falls with a family bike ride and dinner at SeSalt! It was a perfect "dad's day"! Happy Father's day, Luke! Thanks for all you do for our family! You are an amazing dad and we love you so much!

We came home to this large branch down. It was pretty windy, but not stormy!

The start of Summer 2016

We had a great start to summer this week. Luke was in KC for a work/training meeting, but we had a fun busy week and we were excited to see him when he got home!

Nora's school had a visit from the fire department and police department and they let the kids try on their gear! I am so impressed with their patience to let all the kids try it on!

 Tuesday was a rainy day so soccer was cancelled for Bishop. He got to watch Nora at gymnastics and then we went to the Kahlert's for pizza!

 Bishop is spending his summer at Mpls Kids--they have a couple field trips every week and lots of fun activities at school!

 We were back on the field for soccer on Thursday night! Liam brought popsicles for his team and shared with Bishop and Nora! Thanks, Liam!

 We've had a lot of fun with Johnny and Carolyn so far this summer! The boys like keeping busy together and the girls enjoy playing babies together!

 The Hennum's came over for dinner on Friday to plan for our upcoming camping trip! Liana even painted Nora's nails! :)

 Nora had Cameron's birthday party on Saturday and there was a face painting station! Tanya was kind enough to paint her face!

 We celebrated my mom's birthday and Father's day at my sister's on Saturday night! It's so fun to see the kids play together--they all love each other so much!

Nokmois Beach, Art and Rosemary's 50th Anniversary, Fishing at Lake Harriet

Saturday brought another HOT HOT day in Minneapolis. We headed over to Lake Nokomis to swim and stay cool in the water! The beach was busy, but we had so much fun--in the water, playing in the sand, eating lunch at Sandcastle (restaurant at Lake Nokomis) and a little fishing!

On Saturday night Luke's aunt and uncle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. It was fun to see all the aunts and uncles and be together! Our neighbor Casey came to babysit and the kids were SO excited!

On Sunday we tried fishing at Lake Harriet and had more luck! The kids get so excited when they catch fish, it's so fun! Bishop caught 2.....Nora had fun for awhile and then chose to watch! ;)

 Luke had to leave Sunday afternoon for a work meeting for the week. We met one of Nora's friends at the park and then came back to our house to play. Bishop was walking around without shoes on outside and stubbed his toe pretty badly. I think it is the most pain I've seen him in......and I felt so bad for him. It was hard to tell how big the damage was so I took him to one of our neighbors who is a pediatric Dr to see if he needed stitches-thankfully she didn't think he did (and it healed pretty quickly). After soaking it it looked MUCH better! Whew!
