Snack at Nora's Class

On Wednesday Nora's class invited the parents to join them for snack! The kids made green pudding and we all enjoyed snack together! It's always fun to come into their environment and see how excited they are to "show you around'! :) Nora was prettttttty excited and her smile says it all!

We spend a lot of time down at the Bandshell at Lake Harriet--and we love it. One night we went down to eat there. Nora insisted on carrying the tray all on her own! :)

CitySolve Urban Race

Saturday morning brought what was supposed to be Bishop's last football game. But there was one rained out game, so it was technically their 2nd to last game.......and it got rained out too, but not before we got there to run around for 5 minutes and get medals! :) It was just Bishop and one kid from the other team. They had fun for the 5 minutes we were there and then we packed up and I headed to the CitySolve Urban Race.  Everything actually worked out perfectly for me! I was feeling guilty for having to miss another game (or the end of it, especially the medals) and I ended up getting the best of both worlds!

Hanging out under the umbrellas!

Pretty Excited about his medal!
Anna, Michelle, Brandi and I participated in the CitySolve Urban Race on Saturday! We really had no idea what to expect and I was concerned that it was going to be a lot of trivia....and I wouldn't have much to offer! ;) It ended up being an absolute blast and we finished in 2nd place!!! We couldn't believe it! We had fun, ran a lot, figured out puzzles and where to go and came in as the 2nd team!  It was like The Amazing Race on a smaller scale (just in Mpls). We could use public transportation (bus or light rail) and run.  It was the first day the Green Line was open (from Mpls to St. Paul) and it worked out in our favor, as we had to go to the East Bank of the U for a couple of clues! It was a super fun day with these girls........
There was a costume contest and while we didn't enter that--we had fun in our colored wigs--and a lot of people liked them and asked to take our picture throughout the day! :)

It ended at Cowboy Jack's and we all took a ride on the Bull! Let's just say I think we were all a little sore from all the running and then riding of the bull!

I don't think anyone got a picture of me....but they got a video!! Yikes!

Luke brought the kids up Cold Spring and they had a blast with his parents. They went to a petting zoo/farm and saw a bunch of animals....and went down a big slide! Anna had to take off, but the guys met us out and we had a fun time relaxing together that night!

I have a feeling we'll be competing in the CitySolve race again--but next time there's pressure!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to a one of a kind dad!! Luke, our kids absolutely adore you!! Nora is definitely daddy's little girl and it is so sweet and heartwarming! There are often nights when the kids fight over who gets daddy to put them to bed! :)

Since the kids were in Cold Spring Saturday night we went to breakfast, just the 2 of us on Sunday morning. Rich and Eileen brought the kids back and we went out for lunch too! It was quite the day!

We have gotten a LOT of rain and some storms moved in on Saturday (we had a branch fall on our house and our neighbors house--with minor damage). With that being said, Luke wanted to celebrate at SeSalt, but due to the rain we drove over instead of biked over. The storms held out and we had a great night! We hiked down the creek to the Mississippi River, which was pretty neat.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's day to my dad (we'll be celebrating next weekend) and my father-in-law, Rich! I'm so blessed to have Rich as my father in law. He was (and still is) a very hard working man, who instilled (along with his wife, Eileen) some great qualities in their son....and I am so thankful for that! Thanks for all your hard work and love for your family!

School Kick off to Summer Party

Kindercare hosted a Kick off to Summer Party yesterday at school! My mom came up to do some shopping in the afternoon, so she joined me at the party! The kids had an absolute blast and Bishop was asking this morning if there would be another party tonight after school! :)

This first picture was taken in our backyard. Nora and Domino (or Mima, as they call her) have such a great time together and are such good friends! I'm so happy she has a girlfriend to play with since most of our friends have boys!

Nora and Mima love taking wagon rides together!
Bishop transferred out of his 5 point harness carseat into a booster seat.......and Nora thinks it's pretty cool!  :)
Nora was SO excited to see Nana at the school party! She was ALL smiles! The party was held outside with lots of outdoor activities (and snacks and juice) for the kids! It was a nice, hot summer day, so it was fun to be outside!

They had a potato sack race

Nora absolutely LOVED the parachute!

Eating snacks with Nana!

Playing on the playground with the kids!
Nora and I walked down to the lake one evening and this was our view........there are usually big turtles sitting on the rocks, but this time the Blue Heron was hanging out there!

Friday night the Hennum's came over for dinner. These 4 play really well together! I know I've said it before, but I'm just so impressed with Siena and Maia's patience with Bishop and Nora (since they're younger). They are so good to both of them!

June Catch Up

I was gone last weekend (May 30-June 1st) for girls weekend! I had so much fun relaxing and catching up with some great girlfriends! There were 5 of us and we all became friends through our husbands. We sat on on the deck and soaked up some sun, read, relaxed, sat in the hottub and caught up on mom stories, etc!

I got back Sunday afternoon, just in time to join Luke and the kids for a bike/walk down to the bandshell! I forgot how much fun it is to come home after being gone--the kids literally attacked me with hugs and kisses.....I hope to get hugs that like forever, they are the absolute best!

We went down to the bandshell and the kids found a turtle!

Wednesday night we went over to Danny's house after dinner to play for a bit before bedtime! He has a really neat swingset in his backyard, so the kids played in that, Bishop hit baseballs (and lost one at Danny's neighbors) and the boys ran through the other neighbor's sprinkler!

Double Trouble!
On Thursday a good friend of mine stopped over in the evening to catch up and see the kids! I worked with Joan a few years ago and it's always fun to see her and catch up! Nora especially like sitting on Joan's lap!

I took the day off on Friday and took the kids to the Zoo! We had so much fun! The kids were awesome and we were able to see some shows and spend time doing different things there!

Here's Nora before we went--taking her baby for a walk with her purse--just like Mommy!
The Big Bug exhibit was going on at the Zoo, so we checked that out as well! The kids really liked the big bugs!
We saw some bear training and we got to see the bears get up and be a little more active, which was fun!

We went to a Close Encounters show, where we saw different animals "up close" (armadillos, lizards, etc). We also went to the bird show and ate lunch while we were there!
Hanging out at the Close Encounters show!

The big tarantula!

Playing on the caterpillar!
Nora's favorite was riding the tractor to the farm! On the way out we rode the tractor pulled by 2 horses and on the way back we got to ride the tractor! She loved it!

It was a beautiful, hot day so when we got home Luke joined us at the lake for a little swim!
Happiness is a hot summer day in the lake!

Nora enjoyed the lake from the shore! :)
It was rainy on Saturday so we went to the Y to go swimming. Unfortunately the pool was closed--so I played with the kids in the gym and the climbing castle while Luke swam.
After the Y we went bowling! Bishop bowled for Luke on his first frame.....and got a STRIKE (with NO bumpers)! It was pretty exciting!

Sunday was another beautiful day, so we went to the Farmer's Market and then biked down to the Twins Game! This was the kids' first Twins game! They had a blast! Bishop was asking all sorts of questions (about different positions in the outfield, why do they have 2 bats, etc). Nora would get SO excited when everyone would cheer and she'd light up and start clapping! On one hit the Twins had a good looking hit, but the outfielder made an impressive catch---and Nora followed it up with "Oh, MAN"!
Waiting for the game to start!

Nora brought her phone and took some pictures of us as well! :)

Waiting to get in the stadium!

The Froehle's first Twins Game

We lasted about 3 innings before we got Cotton Candy and then after the kids finished that we walked around a bit and then tried out some new seats (really close to the field). It was an awesome day (aside from the final score, the Twins lost pretty badly). We biked home and I was exhausted!

Nora's latest thing is she really likes playing pretend and putting "somescream" on. She pretends she's the teacher and she'll pretend to put "somescream" on my arms and face so I don't get a sunburn! She gets pretty excited about it and she offers to put it on all of us. Bishop is so sweet to her and he'll say "no thank you"....I'm not sure if he realizes she's just playing or not, but he's sweet about it! :)

We're all loving this summer so far! We're looking forward to making so many more memories!
