Swimming at Lake Harriet

Sunday we walked down to Lake Harriet to go swimming in the lake. It was a beautiful day and swimming was the perfect thing to do!

Bishop LOVES Superman right now! And his lifejacket is a Superman lifejacket...so he HAD to wear it on our walk to the lake!

Riding to the lake
Bishop was very content playing in the sand for quite awhile when we got there. I asked Luke to take some pictures of him....he wouldn't look at the camera, but he still said "CHEESE"! :)

This was Nora's first time "swimming" in a lake. She enjoyed dipping her feet in the water and she loved the feel of the sand on her feet!!

I don't know why these pictures won't turn, but I thought I'd add them anyways. Nora just hanging out on the blanket on the beach!

Matt's Surprise Party

We hung out at Nana and Papa's during the day on Saturday, until it was time to go down to the Elks for a surprise birthday party for one of my very good guy friends from high school, Matt Skala!

Matt's wife, Kristin did an awesome job of organizing a surprise party for Matt and so many of our friends were there to celebrate, I had such a great time! We brought the kids for awhile and then my parents came to bring them home to bed!

There was music and Bishop had such a fun time dancing the night away! He found a little girl he was interested in and he chased her around the dance floor all night long!

Waiting for the big surprise!
Jill is amazing--she has 3 boys of her own, but had the night "off" and yet, she entertained Bishop and he loved it!

Dancing on the stage!

Bishop INSISTED on wearing his Superman shirt to the party! I had a nicer shirt picked out, but I decided it wasn't a battle worth fighting, so I let him wear it! Needless to say, he wore it to bed that night and again on Sunday!!
Having such a great time!

Sawyer and Christian!
Bishop probably had 10-12 cups of punch Saturday night....and his dinner consisted of a piece of cake and 1 1/2 cookies--no wonder he had such a good time!!
Bishop and Lucas
Matt, Happy Birthday! Kristin, thanks for organizing such a great time!

I'm bummed I didn't take any pictures of Matt and our friends, but I had such a great time seeing everyone!!

Breakfast on the Farm

Saturday morning we drove down to Owatonna for Breakfast on the Farm (along with another great reason, which I'll share in another post)! :)

I took Bishop with my parents last year and Luke wasn't able to join us, so it was fun to have him along this year...and of course, Nora too! :)

It's possible that Bishop's favorite part was riding the bus out to the farm! :)

When we got out there we had breakfast, caught up with family and friends, rode the "choo-choo", held a kitten, pet some animals and went on a horse carriage ride! It was great and Bishop was so excited!

Riding the bus with Papa!

Saying "moo" to the cow!
Bishop was very serious about riding the "choo choo". It was his first time being "on his own" and we kept telling him he had to stay seated and he couldn't stand up to try to get out. Of course, his was the ONLY car without a "horn". He would have LOVED to honk his horn the whole time...but he still had a good time.
Riding the "choo choo"

Every time we saw him he turned his head as far the opposite was as possible. He's usually not like that and we couldn't figure out if he was being shy/embarrassed/excited or what?!? Funny guy, I hope he's not embarrassed already!!

Nora's first time at Breakfast on the Farm! She did great!

Holding the kitten with nana and daddy. He may have squeezed a little TOO tight! :)

Holding a baby chick and petting the bunny rabbit!

Riding on the horse wagon

Hanging out at Nana and Papa's after the fun at the farm!
Bishop is still obsessed with Nora. He is so sweet to her...bringing her toys, her paci, etc. Sometimes he plays a little too hard with her, but for the most part, he does really well and he absolutely adores him. She literally laughs and laughs and laughs at him!!

Happy Birthday Nana from Grandview Lodge

Last week both Luke and I had to be in Brainerd for work, so my parents joined us to watch the kids during the day. It worked out wonderfully and we all had a blast!! Luke and I were even able to get away for dinner on Tuesday night...so that was fun! Thanks so much, mom and dad! The weather wasn't perfect, but we still had a great time!

It was my mom's birthday on Wednesday, so we were able to celebrate together that day! We stopped at Shelly and Ryan's to have dinner with them on our way home, which worked out wonderfully!!

There was an indoor pool/water slide, which was a ton of fun. Bishop needed to ride with Luke or I, so we all had a great time! It was a fast slide and the first time down I was wondering if it was such a good idea....but by the time we hit the water, we were all smiles! :)

Happy Birthday, mom!! You deserve nothing but the best! We appreciate all you do and it was so fun being away with you and dad for a couple days! Thanks for being you--you have taught me so much about being a mother, daughter and friend....there are so many people who are better off because you are in their lives--I'm so thankful to be one of those people! I love you as big as the sky!!
