The North Shore

Luke and I went up to the North Shore this past weekend to do some skiing! We had great weather and some great skiing!

We took off early on Friday and skiied the Baptism River, which is where all the pictures are from. It was a gorgeous ski and the conditions were great!

Saturday we tried to ski the Brule River--after slogging through VERY heavy snow for 2 hours we couldn't find the "put in" to get on the river so we left to ski someplace else. We got on the Devil's Track River, which we've skiied a couple other of times, but decided it wasn't the best idea to get such a late start with the heavy snow on the river, so we skate skiied at Pincushion instead. It was AWESOME skate skiing and it felt great to be on groomed land! :)

Sunday we got dropped off above BlueFin Bay (where we stayed) and we skiied down to the resort. I was thinking it would be mostly downhill, but I was SO wrong!! We skate skiied for close to 3 hours and it was A LOT of steep up hill! It was pretty cool though as we hardly saw any people and we saw some cool views (and the last portion was all downhill, so that was a nice way to end)!

Bishop stayed at Grandpa and Grandma B's for the weekend and they all had a blast!! He played and walked and took baths and even got to go to a basketball game! Thank you mom and dad, you are the best and we appreciate it SO much!!

January Update

Here are some pictures from the past week!

Reading one of Bishop's favorite books with Uncle Jake

Riding the airplane is FUN!

Last Saturday we took Bishop to the Minneapolis Institute of Art--he enjoyed looking at the sculptures and pointing at different pieces of art. Here he is checking out the lit up flowers on the wall!

Bishop and his friend, Livi.
Playing in the cupboard
We had another PT appt for Bishop on Thursday and things are looking really good!!! I am so happy with the progress (FINALLY)!!! He doesn't have to go back for a month, which is huge! His PT was very happy with how he was looking, so he'll continue to wear the collar and we'll keep working on a few exercises and hopefully he'll be in midline all the time, soon!!

Whole Milk

It's been a fun couple of weeks. We've been able to visit a lot of relatives!

We visited all of Bishop's grandparents, which was a lot of fun. We also visited Auntie Shelly and Uncle Ryan, and Bishop had a great time!

This past weekend we went to The Mpls Institute of Art. Bishop really enjoyed looking at the sculptures and pictures....he lasted about an hour and then began blurting out "DA" "DA" "DA"!! He was super happy, but not willing to be quiet, so we hung out in the family area for a bit, so he could play and then we came home.

Bishop started on whole milk this past weekend and relatively speaking it's gone great!! I was nervous as to how he would adapt to it, but he's gone 3 days now with no bottle!! They said he did great at daycare today, so I don't think there's any turning back now (except for a bottle at bedtime when mama's gone). I still can't believe his first birthday is just around the corner!

Bishop continues to LOVE walking behind his walker and he enjoys kissing the bear in his book, You Are My I Love You--he loves that book along with Moo, Baa, La La La. Good thing they are good books, as we're reading them MANY times a day. He has gotten more confidence walking and will hold on to the back of my pants as I'm standing and he'll even walk with me! So fun!

I'll try to post some new pictures soon!

11 Months

Bishop is 11 months old today! I cannot believe it's been 11 months already and that he'll be ONE in a month!! Time has flown and it has been such a wonderful year--full of lots of smiles and giggles...one of the best!!

Bishop started walking behind "walkers" this past weekend and he LOVES it. The very first time he did it, he literally RAN behind the walker!! He's so proud and he always has a huge smile!!

He continues to climb up the stairs as fast as he can and he gets so excited to make it all the way up without help.

His neck seems so much better--and we go back to PT on Thursday, so hopefully things are moving in the right direction!

Bishop being silly! He loves to bite things and carry them around in his mouth.

Climbing stairs and So Big

Bishop has been climbing up the stairs any chance he can get lately! He's getting pretty good at it and he is so proud of himself when he gets to the top! It's really fun to watch him have so much fun--he just laughs and laughs on the way up!

The other new fun thing he's been doing is "So Big"-he'll raise his arms as high as he can and give you the biggest smile he has...he is so proud!

Happy New Year

Happy 2011!!

We spent the new year up on the North Shore. We weren't planning on going, but found a great last minute deal, so decided to go up and ski and swim with the Hennum's. We had a great time, although Bishop and Luke were sick. We were able to swim with the kids and ski, and it was great getting out of town for a few days!

Taking a pit stop on the way up so Bishop could stretch out and "drive"-he LOVED it!

Skiing at Giant's Ridge on New Years Eve
Bishop's first time "skiing" in the Chariot--he loved it and slept most of the time!

Hanging out in the cabin in his new outfit from Grandpa and Grandma Froehle
Swimming with Siena and Maia
Skiing at Gooseberry on New Years Day
Due to the fact that there was some stomach flu going around the adults made it up to watch the ball drop in NY (11pm) and then we were all out....at least for a few hours!

2010 was a wonderful year for our family!! The highlight was obviously the birth of Bishop!! He has brought so much joy into our lives, it's unbelievable! It's hard to imagine what our lives were like without him!! We experienced a lot of change in 2010-we sold our house, bought a house (while I was laid 0ff), moved and did a renovation, while living in the house (I don't recommend that with an infant)! :) Looking back, we have so much to be thankful for and we have a very healthy and happy family and nothing beats that! I am excited for 2011, as it will be another exciting year--I am SO excited to meet my niece and to continue to watch Bishop learn and grow!
